Podcasting Is Educational, Really
Believe it or not, podcasting isn’t only used for entertainment value, it could also be used – and is already being used for education.
Podcasts are now delivering content that is educational in nature to computers and even iPods for one’s viewing and listening pleasure thereby freeing constraining environments such as the classroom or conference halls. It allows a free-for-all use of technology that people of all ages could utilize to the best of their ability. But first things first.
What is a podcast, really?
Basically, a podcast is either a visual or an audio content that is transmitted thru a network thanks to an unpaid subscription. Once a subscription has been entered, a regular podcast could then be transmitted thru the net via a network provided by the school and accessible through one’s laptop, iPod or personal computer.

The general content of a podcast could be anything from a lecture about Biology or a lesson in French as long as it is recorded in a video or audio file. Instructors or teachers could actually conveniently create podcast assignments everyday and have it published or be distributed to their students.

Now that a podcast has been recorded, its distribution becomes possible with iWeb where a series of podcasts could be created or added. By clicking publish, the podcasts are now available to be seen on the internet. Apple has a dedicated server that publishes podcasts and weblogs.
Access to podcasts
Access to podcasts are easy just by clicking a button. iTunes enable users to easily subscribe to contents that are automatically delivered to one’s own playlists.
All in all, podcasts are everything one wants it to be. It is a source of conveniently downloadable entertainment as well as stable resource for one’s educational and learning needs. It is everything one wants it to be and more. It is a technological treasure, the benefits of which are only limited by one’s imagination.
