The hype of the Apple iPhone generated a pinch of negativity when the excited customers found out that they must pay $85 in order to replace their battery and back-up their data.
The company behind the eagerly anticipated mobile phone, Apple, revealed the 101 on the iPhone battery replacement. It is the same negotiation the users have with their iPod. With the iPod, they have to return the product to appeal whenever they need to have the battery replaced.
With the iPhone, it’s a bit more expensive. This service costs around $85. This includes shipping. This whole process takes about three business days.
Long Wait
This service is very much the same as that of the iPod wherein all the data is cleared throughout the replacement process. The users are encouraged to back up the data of their iPhones before they send it back to Apple.
Apple assures the customers that the battery of the iPhone is generally good for about 300 up to 400 charges before the entire performance of the unit begins to decline. This is often triggered by the lithium-ion battery flow. For other phones, you can simply get a replacement battery and put it yourself.
Ever-continued Support
The iPhone must be returned to the hands of Apple employees during the battery replacement process because there are usage guidelines that are aimed at preserving and optimizing the battery life of the unit.
Particularly, Apple insists that iPhone users must double check whether they have the latest iPhone software installed. They also have to put their mobile to an appropriate room temperature in order for its longevity. They strictly prohibit users from leaving their devices inside a vehicle, especially when it is parked in the sun.
Tax excluded
So the total cost of the entire battery replacement and repair program is around $85 for every unit. This is subjected to local tax. So the customers will know what really goes on behind the whole process, the official Apple iPhone site has printed the Repair Terms and Conditions for them to read.
It shouldn’t come as a shock to the user that upon receiving the iPhone after having the battery replaced, the information in his unit will be deleted. It isn’t possible for the device to retain the information after going through the whole replacement process.
The cycle continues. The new battery can last for about 300 to 400 charges before it needs to be replaced again.
